| Armageddon and the fortress at Megiddo Armageddon is located the crossing between the coastal road and the king's road, two major roads connecting Egypt to Syria. This strategic location brought a lot of wealth and war to the city of Megiddo. The valley of Armageddon has been at the crossroads of international conflict since the beginnings of human history. The city declined after the Greeks conquered it from the Persians. Here was the last battle between the English and the Turkish army during WWI when the British conquered Palestine.
