En-Gedi, The contrast of this beautiful oasis on the shores of the Dead Sea is striking. The photographs below encompass only a small part of the oasis and settlement of En-Gedi. Mentioned in Joshua 15:62 as one of the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah " And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages." David used En-Gedi as a hide out from King Saul. 1 Samuel 24:1 Saul, with three thousand of Israel, pursued David into En-Gedi, and it was here that David cut a piece from Saul's skirt.
