The Restoration in Images

Nauvoo, Illinois was home for the Saints after their expulsion from Missouri in the winter of 1838,1839.  They thrived here until 1846, when mob violence coupled with government inaction again drove them from their homes.

In June of 1844, It was from here that Joseph Smith was taken to Cartage where he was martyred.
