Kanesville Tabernacle

The Kanesville Tabernacle, described as the biggest log cabin in the world, was built by the Saints in Kanesville, now Council Bluffs, Iowa to accommodate the December, 1847 general conference.  Brigham Young was sustained as the second president of the church at this conference.  The tabernacle was built of green logs, and lasted only a few years.  A replica and visitors center have been erected at the site.
