The Restoration in Images

Harmony, Pennsylvania was the home of Joseph and Emma for several years.  Some of the Book of Mormon was translated here.The Aaronic Priesthood was restored to this dispensation on the 15th of May, 1829 on the banks of the Susquehanna river near the Smith home in Harmony, Pennsylvania.  Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were baptized at this time in the river.  See the maps and references page for directions.  A statue just off the highway commemorates the event.

The site for the homestead of Isaac and Elizabeth Hale, parents of Emma, is located just across the highway and slightly to the east of the Aaronic Priesthood marker.
