The Restoration in Images |
| The Saint's presence in Wyoming was strictly transitory. Garden Grove and Mt. Pisgah in Iowa were temporary settlements created to raise food for migrating saints. Winter Quarters was just that -- A winter stop over, but was the center of the church for several years during the migration from Illinois to Utah. The two significant LDS trail sites in Wyoming are the Willie handcart company rescue site and the Martin handcart company rescue site. Other significant sites such as Devil's gate, Independence Rock and Fort Bridger were significant landmarks to the Saints along the Wyoming Trail.
